What Changed
Every tracked document is fetched again each day and reduced to a fingerprint, a short code that changes if a single character of the page changes. When a fingerprint moves, we find out why. This page lists every case where the document itself had been edited, with what we found.
We track 113 documents. Since 12 September 2026 their fingerprints have moved 800 times. Most of those were the publishing website changing its own page furniture, such as styling, scripts or layout, rather than the document anyone reads; that record stays in the registry behind the Daily Register. The 19 below are the changes we confirmed to the documents themselves, with what we found. No edit is overwritten silently: each row carries the fingerprint before and after.
- UPDATE PUBLISHED the change was material; an update piece covers it
- CONFIRMED a real edit, confirmed at source; not yet written up
- CHECKED a real change, checked; nothing new of substance
- UNVERIFIABLE a real edit, but no earlier copy survives to compare
